How does dairy affect the skin

Have you ever wondered why you haven’t been able to get rid of your acne even when you’ve tried everything from topical lotions to prescription oral medications? When you stop using them, pimples start magically appearing again as if they were hiding in your system? The reason behind this vicious cycle is Diet and Inflammation.

There are many hidden factors in our diet that might be contributing to allergies or sensitivities. This can spike an inflammatory response in our body, furthermore it can anticipate acne formation.

In this post I will focus on dairy, specifically milk, cheese and yogurt. This type of dairy may cause an inflammatory response within the body that can lead to excess mucus and make sebaceous glands work hyper-actively. In the skin it causes excess sebum and skin that doesn’t exfoliate correctly. Which in turn causes tight inflamed pores and follicles that are the perfect host for p.acnes bacteria. In addition, modern food processing adds hormones to dairy causing a hormonal imbalance. This imbalance can be devastating to teenagers or people going through hormonal changes regardless.

A combination of the right skin care products, professional treatments, and a good diet can transform our skin and fight acne. Reducing the intake or eliminating this foods from your diet can be easier than you think, there are great alternatives to replace them with. Do yourself a favor you will feel much better overall, not to mention you will have beautiful skin!
