Wednesday Wellness with Angela!

Today is Wednesday! Are you feeling well? Take at peek at how to maintain wellness each week as we discuss various tips on Wellness Wednesday.

This week we are going to peruse some options to de-stress and breathe. What makes me qualified to deliver this message? I could offer you my resume entailing yoga instruction and being a licensed spa/wellness coach but I want you to keep reading. That said, I’m going to be very honest…I’m super stressed! Day in and day out there is zero shortage of madness and I’m fairly confident all of us find ourselves needing a more mindful reprieve. Notice I mentioned the word mindful as that is the first step towards kicking stress where-it-counts. Let’s take a deep breath and peruse 3 fun intentional ways to calm the hell down.

The breath of joy: How awesome is this? Yes, you may want to do this outside of others range of view… but seriously, breath that can offer joy? Who wouldn’t want to try this? I do 5 rounds of this and I usually end up cracking a smile and even laughing at about round 3 and continue making a fool of myself through round 5. This is an easy activity that doesn’t require a ton of time. I’m certainly not going to offer time consuming tips to those who already pressed for it. The benefits of this exercise is to increase oxygen levels, stimulate the sympathetic nervous system and extinguish any internal fire:

Here is a YouTube link and how to:

Perhaps we’ve all heard the saying “put on some gangsta rap and handle it” well, whatever works for you, do exactly that. Find a song you love; sing it and put your hips into it for the length of the song. This simple activity regulates blood pressure.

Tonics! No, I’m not talking gin and tonics…we have to keep this healthy. Consider a shot of B12 Forte administered by our lovely nurses right here at ALC. B12 Forte is a blend of B12, Thiamine, Inositol, Chromium and Choline. This increases your energy, improves memory and puts you in a better mood. Arrange for your shot of mood boosting tonic today. 847-263-4343

Hope this gets you over the hump of your week and that wellness is in focus.

Peace,
