Non-Invasive Facelift With Silhouette InstaLift®

If the skin on your face has begun to sag and droop or lose elasticity, this is all part of the normal aging process. However, today we have more treatments than ever to help restore elasticity and reduce sagging so that you can enjoy a lifted and youthful face.

Silhouette InstaLift is a treatment that provides a minimally invasive facelift without a long recovery time. At ALC Medspa, we use InstaLift for skin tightening to provide an immediate lift as well as other long-term benefits for our patients.

What Is Silhouette Instalift?

Silhouette InstaLift is a procedure that involves inserting a special type of suture underneath the skin on the face. These threads are made from a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) suture with tiny absorbable cones made from PLLA and polyglycolic acid (PGA). The threads provide two separate and distinct benefits:

Lifting of the Face

The cones on InstaLift threads help to hold the sutures in place when placed in the skin. The cones face two different directions and they grab onto surrounding tissue and lift the skin into a more youthful position. This effect can be seen as soon as the treatment is complete.

Stimulation of Collagen

Both PLLA and PGA are dissolvable materials that will disappear over time. However, while they are being dissolved, they stimulate a controlled healing reaction in the body which stimulates additional collagen production over time. Because of this, you not only get to enjoy the instant lifting effects of the threads, but you can also see increased volume and elasticity in the treatment area.

Instalift Vs Facelift: Which Is Better for You?

A facelift is a surgical procedure that involves making incisions next to the ear and in the hairline to remove excess skin and lift the area in the jawline and neck. While this surgery can be very effective, not everyone is willing to undergo a surgical procedure when there are other options. InstaLift provides a non-surgical option that can still produce long-lasting results.

Treatment Steps for Silhouette InstaLift

Step 1: Marking the Face

The first step of our InstaLift procedure is to mark the areas of your face where we will create entry points and insert the threads. Typically, these marks are made from the nasolabial fold to the temples or ear area.

Step 2: Injection of Lidocaine

After the areas are marked, we make sure you will have a comfortable InstaLift treatment by injecting lidocaine into the area. With lidocaine, we can ensure that you have a pain-free treatment.

Step 3: Entry Points Are Made in the Skin

Using a cannula, small entry points are made in the skin to help minimize any damage during the InstaLift procedure. This gives us a clean point through which we can insert the needle and sutures.

Step 4: Threads Are Inserted

Once the entry points are made, we can begin the InstaLift treatment. We insert the needle into the entry point and pull one side of the thread through to the nasolabial fold. The same entry point is used to pull the other side of the thread to the exit point near the ear or temple. This is done three times on each side.

Step 5: Skin Is Manipulated Into a More Youthful Position

After the threads are in place, we manipulate the skin until it is sitting in the desired lifted position. We also pull the sutures tight to make sure they are providing your skin with adequate support.

Step 6: Sutures Are Trimmed

Once the threads are in a perfect position, we can trim the edges and clean your face. At this point, the procedure is done and you can go home.

What to Expect From Silhouette InstaLift Results

As the name suggests, you will notice your InstaLift results instantly. The lifting effect of the threads can eliminate deep nasolabial folds, draw up the corners of your mouth, and lift your cheeks and jowls into a more youthful position.

If you are using InstaLift for facial rejuvenation, you can begin to see results of collagen stimulation in an average of one month. These results can continue to improve over the next few months and can remain for 18 months or more.

If you want to continue to enjoy the results, InstaLift can be performed again after the results from the first treatment fade. Many people plan to have the procedure done every 2 years to continue enjoying the lifting and rejuvenation that the threads provide.

Recovering From Your InstaLift Procedure

After your Instalift skin tightening procedure, the tiny incisions made for the entry points will need to heal. You may have some swelling and a little bruising in the area. However, most people are able to renew regular activities after a day or two. You will want to give these incisions time to heal and stay away from strenuous activities that could impede the healing process. You should only use gentle products such as a gentle cleanser and light moisturizer until the skin is completely healed.

Is Silhouette InstaLift Right for You?

Surgical facelift procedures aren’t for everyone. They can come with long downtimes and incision scars and not everyone is a good candidate. However, Silhouette InstaLift for facial rejuvenation and lifting is a much less invasive procedure that can be suitable for many individuals.

If you are looking for a facial rejuvenation treatment that can restore collagen and lift your face, Silhouette InstaLift may be right for you. To find out more about our services at ALC Medspa in Gurnee, IL, give us a call today or fill out our online form.
